Desktop Porn for 2008

Originally uploaded by dblume.

Today was my last day at Pinnacle Systems, after over 13 years. What does a desk look like after 13 years of cruft?

Well, not that bad, but that's because I was recently forced to move cubicles. Otherwise, there'd be more junk scattered around.

There are a couple of other cubicle photos next to that one. Also, if you visit the photos at flickr, you'll see some notes added to them.

Oh, I didn't realize you were leaving. I hope it wasn't because of that stuff a couple months ago. :(

What's next on the horizon for you?

Hope it's something good and fun!

No, it wasn't because of that stuff. Just time for a change of scenery. The valley is going through good times again, and I got swayed by a former colleague of mine to try something new.

I'm joining a company called Kaleidescape! It's really going to be different for me. No more Windows!

That's a seriously cool monitor... does it go home with you?

I see a poster there which has featured in previous posts.

Good luck on your next adventure!

No, that monitor stays at Pinnacle. But yes, it was so cool, I bought one for myself anyway! I love it!

My thoughts are along Nari's! I hope you didn't find yourself wanting to leave because of all of that crud. I'm still in the press! I'll break the story, I will!

ANYWAY; that's quite the desk. ^^ I wish mine had nearly as much personality. ^_~ Maybe I should get to work! In the meantime, good luck wherever you head to! If you land somewhere that needs a project manager, you let me know. ^_~

Thanks, Phoenix!

As I mention to Nari above, this was a voluntary move. It was time for a new adventure!

:: sighs knowingly :: Desks, like cars, are their own little worlds. Bittersweet farewells . . . I echo the sentiments of the others; hoping this is a tectonic shift of the positive kind.

Moving on was hard! I made some really good friends at Pinnacle.

I did become very comfortable at that desk, but the siren call of a new problem domain became irresistible.
