Work Blog

I'm feeling dangerous (to myself). I may start a work blog where I air out things I feel just aren't getting attention. I'll try to mix the good and the bad. If I start that one, I may have to drop another, though. I don't think I can support too many blogs. I don't know how you do it, halophoenix.

So, with no further ado, here's This Developer's Studio. (I don't actually expect any of you to read it.)

And if that one takes off, here's what'll probably happen elsewhere:

dblume.livejournal.com will go less technical, and veer towards artsy, anime and manga, and life-in-general.
my.dlma.com will remain anecdotal stories about fatherhood, published at about the same rate.
dlma.vox.com might wither.  It's competing for the same daylight as livejournal.

We'll see...

the secret for me is to do what you're doing; stay topical. :) I can't have too many personal blogs or they start competing, for example, but if they each have their own respective topic and reasons for existance, then they're easier to manage. When I'm feeling mood a, I rant on blog a, you know?

I think I'm with you about vox though, I'm starting to se a few vox blogs start to wither; the problem with being an invite only social networking service is that you get a lot of people who are already blogging, and another personal blog, even if it's nifty like Vox, just may not feel additionally motivated to keep it alive. :(

Aw, thanks. Not that it's really in order, but I appreciate you saying it! ^_^

And what you wrote about vox was well put. I like vox, but this site has roots.

There won't be a case of stopping the checking of vox, because its friends-lists have RSS feeds. Unlike livejournal's which are not friends-list-feeds, but user-journal-feeds. (Grr on that.) My feedreader can keep me in touch with my vox neighborhood. Thanks to vox for understanding what we need.

(I didn't say I'd kill my own vox account. I just acknowledged that it's competing for the same resource as another.)

You, Dear, also get extra points for redirecting your feedburner feed, anyway. As long as you maintain that, your friends won't lose touch through inaction. :-)
