Finales Without Cameraderie

I recently watched the series finale of Samurai Champloo, and man am I going to miss that series. The finale was wonderfully fitting. Then, within a couple of weeks of that, I watched the finale for season two of Battlestar Galactica. This show is sort of a guilty pleasure. I love it, and I was really impressed with what they did in the finale. Ballsy, that.

Strangely, I don't have many real-life friends who are into these shows. It's a little sad not being able to commiserate over the finales.

Luckily, the disc of Samurai 7 that I rented out has the Cassette episode of Mr. Stain on it! I can just loop that episode and the whole family and I can dance with Mr. & Mrs. Radio.

That is so funny. We *also* just watched the series finale of Champloo (last week) and BSG right after that. If you wanna discuss, you can email (my username at livejournal.com)

What do you think of Samurai 7? I'm considering watching that next.

I love Samurai 7, too. The story is progressing nicely, and I care for each of the main characters, each with their unique personalities. The worst I can say is that the mix of 3D and hand-drawn animation is a little distracting, but not much. Give it a shot.

I also saw the ending of Gantz, recently, but the ending was a let down. The only thing I'll miss about that show is the music. Still, it was such a trip to see Gogo Yubari gush over it.

Ack! I definitely love Samurai Champloo, so no worries there. I also thought the ending was incredibly fitting. :)

As for BSG, I want to get into the show now, but I have that worry that since I haven't seen any of it by now, I'm going to be hopelessly lost if I start watching now...

Yeah, I daresay I love Samurai Champloo more than anything else I've seen recently save the rare exception. Maybe Ghost in the Shell.

As for BSG, watch the pre-season-one mini series. It fits on one (or two) DVD, I think. So it's bite-sized! If you liked it, then you can continue with the actual series.

I'd recommend avoiding getting spoiled for the ending to season two. (Meaning, don't start with season three.)

Bha. With luck these shows come to Europe in a couple of years.
*sigh*

At least they'll get there. We get American reproductions of the successful shows in Europe. We never get the original. (Except for the new Dr. Who, I guess.)

Yep, we don't have that strong censorship like you have over there, in the land of the free
(which is why so many American series are not as exciting and successfull when they finally get here :( )
